New Canadian Poetry

New Canadian Poetry is a representative anthology of new poetry bringing together 35 of the most promising poets writing in Canada today. Not to be regarded only as the heirs to Canadian poetic sensibilities, these contributors’ works meet and occasionally rise above the “old guard” of CanLit, as characterized by their experimentation with form and consciousness of tradition. This anthology’s interests lie not only in promoting Canadian poetry but also in Canada’s place within world poetry. With an introduction by award-winning poet, A.F. Moritz.

This anthology includes the following poems by Priscila Uppal:

“Bone-marrow”
“How to Draw Blood from a Stone”
“Pretending to Die”

(Fitzhenry & Whiteside, 2000)
